Maine Grains
Award winning, freshly-milled, stone-ground organic and heritage grains, flour and beans sourced from the Northeast.

Located in the heart of downtown Skowhegan, Maine Grains’ milling facilities take up the majority of what used to be the town jail. 12 years ago, founder Amber Lambke established a farmers’ market in the jail’s parking lot that placed an emphasis on utilizing Maine products. When she realized that many local bakers and other artisans didn’t source their grains from Maine, she sought to solve that issue by founding Maine Grains with Michael Scholz, thus giving local farmers a greater incentive to cultivate heritage varieties of grain! Tapping into the growing interest in rebuilding Maine’s reputation as the breadbasket of New England from the hard work of local grain experts involved in the founding of the Maine Grain Alliance, Maine Grains has now grown to an expansive operation that not only spans the entire building but also serves as a diverse space for the community to come together: hosting spaces for fellow tasting room favorite, Crooked Face Creamery, Happy Knits, and HooSkow Radio!
We hope that you’ll take a closer look at Maine Grains impressive grain mills during your travels!
