ASSISTANT MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY
The Maine Tasting Center is an education center that focuses on food and drink produced in Maine. We are building our team for our sixth season and are seeking an experienced Tasting Room Manager to oversee and direct daily operations in our Tasting Room. This position is a good fit for an outgoing and organized individual who is passionate about Maine food and drink and comfortable with both front-of-house and back-of-house management duties.

The Tasting Room Manager will work alongside the Maine Tasting Center General Manager(s) to ensure smooth operations of the Tasting Room and is crucial to the success of Maine Tasting Center during its sixth season. Ideal candidates will be 1.) comfortable managing a small team; 2.) flexible and willing to transition between several different tasks over the course of a day; 3.) organized and experienced in basic management duties including maintenance and execution of various schedules and monitoring/assigning routine tasks; 4.) passionate about Maine food and drink and excited to talk about it!

KITCHEN MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY
Maine Tasting Center is a nonprofit education center dedicated to driving economic benefit to Maine’s small food and drink producers and inspiring excitement for Maine foods. As we prepare for our sixth season, we’re looking for one to two dependable Kitchen Managers to join our team. These roles are perfect for individuals who are passionate about Maine food, have some kitchen experience, and want to contribute to our mission of connecting people with the producers behind Maine’s vibrant food system.

The Kitchen Managers will work in the Tasting Room’s kitchen preparing food orders, completing food prep tasks, managing kitchen inventory and preparing tasting plates for classes and events. Ideal candidates will be 1.) comfortable and experienced working in a commercial or restaurant kitchen; 2.) familiar with Maine food handling and safety regulations; 3.) able to work both independently and collaboratively in the kitchen; 4.) passionate about Maine food!

MAINE FOOD EDUCATOR

JOB SUMMARY
We are building our team for our sixth season and are seeking friendly and flexible part-time Maine Food Educators to join us. These positions are a good fit for outgoing individuals who are passionate about Maine food and drink and who want to be a part of Maine’s growing food and beverage scene!

Maine Food Educators will work alongside the other members of our team in the Tasting Room on a variety of tasks including tending bar, assisting with food preparation and service, supporting classes in the Learning Center, assisting with events and light administrative tasks during slower periods.
​
Ideal candidates will be 1.) excited to interact with and educate visitors; 2.) willing to transition between several different tasks over the course of a single shift; 3.) passionate about Maine food and drink and excited to talk about it!

These positions are a good fit for flexible and detail-oriented individuals who have some experience in the kitchen, are passionate about Maine food and drink and who want to be a part of Maine’s growing food and beverage scene!

Kitchen Assistants will work alongside the Hospitality Director and the Campus Manager in the Tasting Room’s kitchen to prepare food orders, complete food prep tasks and prepare samples/tasting plates for classes. Ideal candidates will be 1.) comfortable working in a commercial/restaurant kitchen; 2.) familiar with Maine food handling and safety regulations; 3.) able to work both independently and collaboratively in the kitchen; 4.) passionate about Maine food and cooking with Maine ingredients!
