Green Bee

When it comes to fizzy treats in Maine, most Mainers will think of our official state soda: Moxie, despite the fact that it was invented and produced in Massachusetts! And while we do enjoy a nice cold Moxie and celebrating the drink at the festival in Lisbon, we should also spare some time for the lovely folks over at Green Bee in Brunswick!

The idea for Green Bee was developed by home beekeeper Chris Kinkade, who was trying (unsuccessfully) to keep sugary, not-that-great-for-you sodas away from his three young children. One day, Chris was gathering honey from his hives and thought it might be the key to making a kid-friendly beverage out of all-natural ingredients! He took to the kitchen, mixing fresh juices, herbs, and of course, honey until both he and his kids approved of the recipe that is now being sold as Lemon Sting in both our tasting room and in natural food stores all over! Like a true Maine artisan, Chris then left his stressful NYC Wall Street job to focus on all things honey soda. And ever since, Green Bee has expanded its repertoire to five core flavors, sparkling waters, and collaboration products!
