Black Pug Brewing
Small batch beer. Big personality. Much in little.

A cute local watering hole located in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it spot alongside Bath road in Brunswick, Black Pug Brewing attempts to bring the spunky, lovable aesthetic of the pug breed to the world of Maine craft brewing. What does that mean? Well, pugs are small and feisty; always down to have fun, but they can also be calm and dignified. This translates to Black Pug’s taproom via a love of experimentation in high quality recipes and flavors combined with the desire to create a welcoming, pleasant space for the community.
Like most small breweries in Maine, Black Pug was founded by a homebrewer and a beer appreciator respectively: Sam Wilson and Jason Allen. It took them a few years to perfect their operations, but in 2018, the tasting room opened and has been producing unique craft brews ever since! Nowadays, a trip to Black Pug guarantees you unique pours of beers in flavors you’ve never thought possible, good company surrounding anything from World of Warcraft LAN parties to hot meals from an array of local food trucks, and a friendly chat with whoever’s chilling around the bar. Make sure to follow them @blackpugbrewing on Instagram and Facebook to keep up to date on all the fun things happening!
And yes, there is in fact a black pug. There are multiple, in fact! Their names are Mochi and Miso and they are very cute. Give them a pat!
