Fighting Food Waste: Research on Feeding Food Waste to Hogs and Laying Hens
In the United States, 30-40% of the food supply is wasted. What if farms could turn that waste into a resource instead of a problem? In this talk led by Noah Arbuckle based on his capstone research project, learn what feeding food waste to pigs and laying hens could mean for both nutrition and sustainability.
Noah Arbuckle, a high school senior, is the son of John and Holly Arbuckle, the farmers behind Singing Pastures, a ninth-generation regenerative farm in Newcastle, Maine. The Arbuckles are known for raising livestock on pasture using regenerative practices that restore soil health, support biodiversity, and produce nourishing food.
