Edible Insect Happy Hour

We’re kicking off our summer season with one of our favorite topics: edible insects!

Join Maine Tasting Center, EntoSense, and Invertebration on opening day for a fun, low-key edible insect cocktail hour; it's our way of starting the season with something a little unexpected.

Enjoy a variety of snack-style hors d’oeuvres highlighting edible insects, cooked up by our bug-lovin' team. Whether you’re a seasoned entomophagist or completely new to eating insects, you’ll find something delicious to try, alongside a drink or two - plus the chance to chat with Maine edible insect producers and learn more about this growing food category. All food is included with your ticket and a cash bar will be available (with a few special insect cocktails on offer!). Stop by to kick off the season with us, then head out to enjoy the rest of your evening in Wiscasset.

Edible insects are one of those topics we keep coming back to, so we’re bookending the season with them: a casual happy hour on opening day, and our full Sustainable Supper dinner event on October 17th to close things out. If you're as passionate about edible insects as we are, we hope you'll sign up for both!

*Please note that the menu for this event will likely include most major allergens including eggs, milk, wheat, nuts and soy. Additionally, people who are allergic to shellfish may also be allergic to insects. If you have questions about whether this event is a good fit for your dietary requirements, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at sara@mainetastingcenter.com.
