Chinese Mooncakes with Maine Ingredients
Let’s make mooncakes! Mooncakes are traditionally made to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, a harvest festival celebrated in Chinese culture that typically falls between mid-September and early October. Join instructor Jeff Mao to learn about – and make – Chinese Mooncakes using Maine ingredients from local farms and producers. Learn how to make the dough, mix up a variety of traditional and non-traditional fillings and, most importantly, learn how to use special molds to create these beautifully intricate pastries.
We'll provide all the ingredients, materials and equipment, plus recipe sheets and product lists to take home. This class is held in our Learning Center and taught by Jeff Mao of Knead & Nosh.
