Brushes & Bivalves: Aquaculture Paint Night
Join us for a shuck-tacular happy hour featuring none other than the Maine oyster!
Start by diving into the flavorful world of Maine oysters with our friends from Blackstone Point Oysters. Join their expert farmers as they reveal the secrets of oyster cultivation in the renowned Damariscotta River - learn the art of shucking, savor the flavor of fresh Maine oysters in a taste test comparison between oysters from different farms on different parts of the river, and discover the stories of the Mainers responsible for bringing this coastal delicacy to your plate. Bring your questions—they've got the answers!
After an hour of tasting and learning, say goodbye to Blackstone Point and head over to the Tasting Room for a paint-and-sip activity featuring upcycled oyster shells from the Damariscotta River. Enjoy drinks from the Tasting Room bar while painting your heart out and enjoying a relaxing evening with friends. Each attendee will leave with their own beautifully painted oyster shell trinket dish, ready to display proudly at home or give as a gift.
If you'd like, bring your own apron or paint smock - all other supplies will be provided.
Your ticket includes access to the program and oyster tasting with Blackstone Point, painting supplies and oyster shells, and two drinks from the bar (beer, wine, cider, mead or soda). Additional food, drinks and cocktails will be available for purchase! Advance registration is required - buy your tickets today at www.mainetastingcenter.com/classes
